Yes. Nervous, sensitive and reactive dogs are the reason Love of Dogs exists. Danielle has worked in training and behaviour for 11 years specialising in reactive dogs, and the whole site is set up around low arousal, separation and space so that dogs are not asked to cope with things they find difficult.

We are honest with you at every step. If we believe a dog will be too stressed to have a good stay, we will say so and either postpone boarding while we do more preparation work, or explain that boarding is not the right option. We would rather have that conversation early than put a dog through something they are not ready for.

A meet and greet is your first visit. You get a tour of the site and we assess your dog, talk through their history and routine, and identify anything that is likely to be a challenge. From there we build a preparation plan together, which may include further visits.

Settling sessions are short, gradual handovers that let your dog get used to us and to the site in small steps. Confidence sessions are visits where you can stay with your dog while they explore and relax, so their first impressions are made alongside someone they already trust.

Yes. Depending on the dog, we may suggest a few hour day trial or an overnight trial before a full stay is booked. We move at the dog's pace rather than to a fixed timetable.

Overnight boarding starts from £35 per dog per night, including VAT. That includes exercise at an absolute minimum of twice daily and more if your dog needs it, treats, feeding, enrichment and suitable medication.

Every dog is exercised at least twice a day and more often if that suits them. We have 10 acres of woodland and 11 separate exercise areas, so dogs can be out without meeting other dogs or feeling crowded.

Yes, please bring your dog's normal food, already portioned for the stay. We feed at set times and can accommodate a particular requirement, such as three meals a day, where appropriate. Using familiar food avoids an unnecessary diet change while your dog is adjusting to a different environment.

We can give suitable medication as part of a stay. We cannot take dogs that require injectable medication.

Arrivals and collections are booked as individual slots. A team member is assigned to your dog and takes them out to their space straight away, and there is a 30 minute gap before any other arrival or collection. Nobody has to queue, wait in a busy car park or pass another dog on the way in.

Yes. We keep an open WhatsApp line and share photos and videos so you can see how your dog is getting on. If something changes we tell you rather than waiting for you to ask.

Enquiries start with the contact form. Once we have met your dog and agreed that boarding is right, owners register through Revelation Pets, which we use as our booking portal.

The required up to date vaccinations or acceptable valid titre test evidence showing immunity must be in place under the terms of our boarding licence. We need a copy of the evidence for our files. If a dog cannot be vaccinated and does not have acceptable valid titre test evidence, we cannot legally board them.

Yes. Acceptable valid titre test evidence showing immunity can be used in place of core boosters. Titre testing does not cover leptospirosis, so leptospirosis vaccination needs to be provided separately where our boarding requirements require it. A vet cannot override the evidence required under the terms of our boarding licence.

Kennel cough vaccination is optional. If your dog has received a live kennel cough vaccine, at least 14 full days must pass before the first day of their stay.

We ask for the date of your dog's most recent flea and worming treatment and the product used, so we have it on record for the stay.

No. A season creates unnecessary stress for the female and for the other dogs here, so we ask you to rebook for another time.

Very elderly dogs who are likely to become disorientated away from familiar surroundings are often happier with a care option that keeps them at home. We are glad to talk it through with you honestly.

No. We cannot take dogs with a severe life threatening illness that requires 24 hour monitoring. Danielle and Marcus live on site close to the kennels, but dogs are not continuously attended overnight and we will not pretend otherwise.
